[Miami Horror]

Miami Horror is "Benjamin", a dude from Melbourne Australia who loves to make some disco tunes in the same vein as VEGA. Sometimes I get to thinking, are they one in the same? Is he also Neon Indian? Where does Ariel Pink come into play? I'm sure all 4 are separate entities, but sometimes I begin to listen to too much music and the lines begin to blur. I hear the chorus to the amazing "Make You Mine" and could have swore VEGA had used that melody before, or vice versa? I'm not complaining here, the more artists that begin to sound like VEGA & Miami Horror, the better, 'cause these dudes have their sound down to a science. And I'm not the only one, he's been bringing in some of the best producers out there to remix for him, including living legend Fred Falke and future Hall of Famer Treasure Fingers. So get up, grab these tunes, and slide on your dancin' shoes, you're gonna need em.

Miami Horror - Don't Be On With Her (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Miami Horror - Make You Mine (Fred Falke Remix)
Miami Horror - Make You Mine (Cassian Remix)
Miami Horror - Make You Mine (Death Metal Disco Scene Radio Mix)

And check out the video for "Don't Be On With Her" if you haven't, this is pure gold my peeps.

As always, after you've grabbed these gems, visit the ol boys Myspace and show him some respect. And if you love it, you can buy their Bravado EP HERE.

  1. It's definitely the vocals. Miami Horror makes me think of Vega (Alan Palomo's side project is Neon Indian) which makes me think of that great rework by Night Drugs for "Face to Face".
I agree, they blur but I couldn't be happier.

  2. Yes, I'm very optimistic in the direction electronic music is going these days. Yes french house, italo disco, etc is nothing new, but the things people like VEGA and Miami Horror have been doing are just great.
